The Phrygian scale is the 3rd mode taken out of a Major scale. The minor second degree gives it an eastern feel. Today's lesson will focus on an E minor Phrygian key. On a technical point of view, we'll concentrate on alternate picking.

Influenced by John Petrucci, Steve Vai and Kiko Loureiro (Angra). The solo starts in F# Phrygian mode and then it modulates to B minor scale. We will use Alternate picking, Vibrato, Slides and Palm muting in this lesson.

This is yet another blues lesson of mine, but a much more freer version.

Pentatonics are extremely useful to create cool solos. But what if we added some notes to them? How about adding to the pentatonics the notes that would make them work on modes?

Scales are not critical to sound like a pro. It's all about HOW you play the notes.

This lesson is useful for right hand finger picking. This is etude so basic it has no specific tempo, I played it here 80 bpm but you can play it in any comfortable speed. Start slowly and then increase it gradually to reach 80 and even more.
